Let the Israel experience begin

After leaving the airport - the kids were driven home - for a quick shower and a chance to change their clothes for Shabbat. We then reassembled at Yarkon Park - a large park with a river running through it - bicycling etc - for a picnic dinner Israeli style - before we went across the street to Beit Daniel - the only Reform Synagogue in Tel Aviv. We had an orientation there - and then we all stayed for services. Lots of familiar melodies - and lots of new ones too - and since the local language is Hebrew - services at the Reform Synagogue were entirely in Hebrew.

It had been a long day - everyone was exhausted - and ready for tomorrow - Shabbat - and a day with families. So - there will be no blog tomorrow - but we will be back posting by about noon on Sunday - as we will have spent a day in Jerusalem - at the Wall - and walking on the walls of Jerusalem - at Har Herzl - and at Yad V'Shem. Check out the blog - and add your own comments. The kids will be happy to see them.

  1. Even though 4-5 months have passed, it looks like the kids have picked up where they left off, and are having a great time.
