three Shabbat experiences

While we have no pictures to post - three very different types of Shabbat (Saturday - daytime) experience were had by our students. Here is how three of our students described what they did.

On Shabbat i went to the port of Tel Aviv. It was a lot of fun. We are breakfast by the water - and then shopped at stands. It was weird because most of the stores were closed for Shabbat. Then we went bowling with other kids from the delegation. After that we went to lunch. Then we walked to Netta's house and hung out. It is really nice that everything is so close. At Netta's house we played Wii, air hockey and ordered a pizza. Then we went hoe and went to sleep. It was a great Shabbat in Israel.

Saturday April 10th, 2010, as a day in the life of Matthew Hain can be summed up in one word - GREAT! Meitar, Uri and I went up to the Carmel Mountains and had a wonderful adventure. We went off-road driving in Jeep type vehicles. It was out of control. After that, Guy, Roi and Zach arrived at the place where we were, adn we went horse back riding. My horse's name was Goldie. After that we ate dinner. After dinner all of the guys went to Uri's house and watched the Barcelona vs. Real Madrid Soccer game. Barcelona won 2-0. Shabbat was amazing. Lots of fun. Another great day the the life.

Shabbat in Israel was a different experience than a typical Saturday in Los Angeles. I started out my day at lunch with Shiri, and her family. I tried a lot of delicious Israeli foods that I had never ezten before. Then I went to the port and met up with Yael, Brett, Hagar and Rachel. We ate at Max Brenner which was great. After that, I went to the mall and shopped. It was a wonderful Shabbat and i am so happy that I got to spend it in Israel!
